Sarah Bush, Principal Investigator
Sarah Sunn Bush is an associate professor (on term) in the Department of Political Science at Yale University. Her research examines how international actors try to aid democracy, promote women’s representation, support elections in developing countries. She is the author of a book on this topic, The Taming of Democracy Assistance: Why Democracy Promotion Does Not Confront Dictators.
Jennifer Hadden, Co-Principal Investigator
Jennifer Hadden is an associate professor in the Department of Government and Politics at the University of Maryland. She conducts research in international relations, environmental politics, network analysis, nonstate actors, and social movements. She is the author of a book about the international climate movement titled Networks in Contention: The Divisive Politics of Climate Change.
Alauna Safarpour, Research Associate
Alauna Safarpour earned her Ph.D. in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland in 2021. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics, and Public Policy at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government and a visiting postdoctoral fellow at Northeastern University's Network Science Institute. Her research areas of interest include race and ethnic politics, public opinion, participation and gender politics.
Ryan Pike, Research Associate
Ryan Pike is a PhD student in political science at Yale University. His fields of interest include comparative and international political economy with a particular focus on environmental and energy politics. He holds a BA in Political Science from the University of California of Santa Barbara.
